MICHIGAN — The American Federation of Teachers Michigan released the following statement in response to the Supreme Court decision on marriage equality.
“Today is a step toward ending discrimination in Michigan and across the United States,” said David Hecker, president of AFT Michigan. “AFT Michigan is proud to have supported the LGBT community every step of the way along this lengthy and worthwhile journey. We will continue to fight until discrimination in all forms is defeated in every workplace and every corner of our state.”
