In AFT

When the AFT hosted three of the candidates running for president in 2016 at the union’s June 2-3 executive council meeting in Washington, D.C., seven AFT members from around the country got the chance to ask them questions in person. They asked serious, substantive questions about student debt, excessive standardized testing, patient safety, Social Security and more. “We place an extraordinary value on letting our members’ voices be heard, so part of any endorsement process is engaging our membership and our leadership,” AFT President Randi Weingarten says. In blog posts and videos, the AFT members who participated talk about their experiences.
