Our mission is to strengthen worker voice, advance the institutions in which our members work, and build a progressive movement committed to achieving these goals. To fulfill our mission we work to build strong local unions, are active legislatively, politically and with education policy, offer a comprehensive professional development and union building programs, engage with community, and organize the unorganized to bring the benefits of unionism to others and to enhance our power.

To advance our work we play a key role in building progressive coalitions around education, worker and community issues. We go about our work with the firm belief that the more informed and mobilized our members are the more that will be accomplished for education employees and the students they educate. A union is its members. They are our strength. Their activism is the key to our success.
