USU Contract Ratification Picnic
Now that spring weather has arrived, many union members and supporters gathered in Ann Arbor on May 21 for an outdoor picnic to celebrate USU’s first contract, which was ratified in February! The Student and Instructional Staff (SIS) unit of USU represents 1800 employees on all 3 University of Michigan campuses. The ratification of their first contract marks a successful high point after years of organizing and member engagement. Congrats again to USU leaders and activists for their past and ongoing contributions to growing their union, improving working conditions for SIS workers, and building solidarity in higher education.
Young Workers Conference 20206 – June 25-27
The Young Workers Conference will be held on June 25-27 in Troy, MI, at the Somerset Inn. The theme for 2026 is “Empower & Lead: Now, Tomorrow, & Beyond”.
This conference is open to participants of ALL AGES, and like all of our events, we encourage folks of all backgrounds to participate. We especially encourage workers who are early in their career or who are new to union organizing to join us!
