The Federal Court of Appeals Sixth Circuit decision today upholding Michigan’s ban on same-sex marriage is discrimination pure and simple. The Sixth Circuit stands out among its peers as the only Federal Court to uphold this form of discrimination. AFT Michigan fights discrimination in whatever form it takes. We will continue to stand with those who support marriage equality. We will continue to stand with people who love each other deeply and wish to express that love as a married couple. Should this case go to the United States Supreme Court we hope for a decision that respects all families.
