I know, I know…it’s still August! But a very important fall is right around the corner and AFT Michigan leaders from across the state gathered at UM-Dearborn this weekend to deepen our own leadership skills and map out strategies for the year ahead.
The prize for the furthest trek goes to Ferris State (Big Rapids) and Iosco ISD (Tawas) and the prize for the largest delegation goes to the Detroit Federation of Teachers (10 of whom are pictured above). Leaders from every constituency worked together on plans to:
- broaden and deepen our member engagement,
- take our #RedForEd movement to the ballot box, and
- win great contracts that improve our members’ lives and our students’ learning conditions!
Thanks to everyone who came and participated. I think we all left feeling energized and ready to hit the ground running this fall!
