In AFT

Today, Saturday, September 20, 2014, AFT Michigan members, retirees and staff went walking in support of Bo Karpinsky who is running for State Representative in the 30th District (Sterling Heights, Utica and Shelby Twp).  Bo is one of us! He is the long-time, now retired, president of the Hamtramck Federation of Teachers. He will bring real life education experience to the legislature. He knows what it is like to teach in a school facing budget cuts. He has experience with a diverse student population and English Language Learners. He knows what educators need, and he understands the importance of the voice that a contract gives to us. There are six weekends left before Election Day. Bo needs volunteers to knock on doors and to work polls on Election Day itself. If you can volunteer please call the AFT Michigan office – 313-393-2200.  You can see more photos from today on the AFT Michigan FaceBook page.
