AFT Michigan Shows Support for Striking Professors at Oakland University
AAUP members to strike amid heated contract negotiations
MICHIGAN – After AAUP members at Oakland University announced a strike Thursday morning, AFT Michigan is showing their support. The following statement can be attributed to David Hecker, president of AFT Michigan:
“We stand in solidarity with members of the American Association of University Professors on strike at Oakland University. These educators have continued to work hard despite the difficult circumstances posed by COVID-19 and they deserve fair compensation and respect from the administration. We hope OU administrators will choose to value the well-being of students and educators and resolve these issues quickly.”
