Registration is now open for the 2023 Great Lakes Union Leadership Institute (ULI) which this year will be held from Monday, June 26 through Friday, June 30 at the Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan, Wisconsin.

You’ll find four courses offered this year:

  • Union leadership skills to help build a strong union
  • Effective grievance administration and organizing
  • Introduction to negotiations and contract campaigns
  • Organizing with parents and communities

Each course runs for four full days providing for an in-depth training on the subject matter. You will find a more detailed description of each course, more information on the facility, transportation, and the daily schedule and in the conference brochure.

The cost for attending the program includes most meals and varies based on your housing needs. A single occupancy room is $1,120 per person, a double occupancy room is $785 per person and participants who commute would pay $450. Local unions also are responsible for travel costsAFT Michigan is able to offer a limited amount of need-based scholarships for members of locals unable to pay the full cost of attendance.
