In AFT

AFT Michigan’s scholarship fund is named in honor of the late state federation president Rollie Hopgood, to continue his goal of promoting and enhancing the teaching profession.

The scholarship fund provides two types of scholarships – to graduates, one male and one female, of a high school represented by an AFT Michigan local, or the child of an AFT Michigan member, who are going to attend college or university with the goal of becoming a teacher; and a second to a PSRP member of AFT Michigan who is pursuing a teaching career.

Applications for the $1,000 scholarships are available in the spring and are awarded in time for the beginning of the fall term.
