Belonging to a union has specific benefits to you at your workplace - the ability to collectively bargain wages and working conditions. But being part of a union also has benefits to you in your personal life.

The AFT has used the bargaining power of over 1.3 million members to be able to offer members a whole range of discounts and services. Everything from home mortgages to magazine subscriptions are offered at a discount through the AFT Plus Members Benefits Department.

In addition, through the locals, the AFT offers members a $1 million liability coverage for claims brought against them as a result of their work. The occupational liability plan combines occupational liability insurance with legal expense reimbursement from the Legal Action Trust.
